Hi-Build is an easy-to-use elastomeric (flexible) acrylic polymer coating for waterproofing porous masonry surfaces. It may be used as a finish coat, and is highly recommended for use under Fresco Sandstone or Tuscany in situations where waterproofing is desired. It is easy to apply, long lasting, doesn’t collect dirt and available in a full colour choice.

Its flexible Hi-Build properties also make it the ideal product to take care of hairline cracking.

Suitability

Hi-Build is suitable for exterior and interior application, for use on concrete, concrete block, brick, roughcast plaster and stucco, fibre cement and acrylic plaster.

Preparation

Ensure the surface is clean and sound. Remove all loose or flaking material if painting over existing finishes. Treat mould and lichen with a proprietary mould-killer before applying Hi-Build.
For new masonry and polymer concretes, ensure the stand-down period is observed before applying Hi-Build, and that the surface is clean and dry.

Application

Build up the waterproofing effectiveness by applying three coats of Hi-Build. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Note that when waterproofing exteriors, the first coat must be rolled, even if it is intended that subsequent coats will be sprayed. Water cleanup.

Colour

Hi-Build is available across the entire Fresco colour range, and can be tinted to match almost any colour. A tint surcharge applies.

Coverage

6-7 m2 per litre. A minimum dry film build of 200 microns is required to provide long-term effective waterproofing.
Note: The first coat may be thinned to 5% with water to act as a sealer for porous surfaces.
Available in 1, 4 and 10 litres and test pots.
