Velvet - beautiful to look at - smooth and seductive to the touch. This flat lime wash paint provides the ideal finish when you want either a smooth flat finish, or, if you choose, the added visual interest of patina. Fresco Velvet is for interiors, or exteriors when used in conjunction with Fresco Hi-Build. It can used very effectively to create a softer feel and character for modern décor, and is exceptionally well suited for use in older buildings and conservation projects.

Suitability

Velvet is scientifically formulated for interior application to new and previously painted gib-board, cement render, plaster, bricks, bagging, concrete and concrete blocks. It is not suitable for timber or glazed surfaces.
Velvet may be wiped clean with a soft damp cloth. We recommend that high traffic areas (kitchens, stairs, playrooms etc) should be protected with a coat of Fresco Glaze over the Velvet.

Preparation

Ensure the surface is clean and sound, free from oils, grease, mould or loose particles. Surfaces with uneven porosity (like gib-board) should first be coated with Fresco Pigmented Sealer and then Fresco Undercoat. Velvet may be applied directly to previously painted surfaces in good condition.

Application

Two coats are required to achieve a high quality finish. Apply by brush. Allow a minimum of 24 hours between coats. Water cleanup.

Colour

Velvet is available across the entire Fresco colour range, and can be tinted to match almost any colour. A tint surcharge applies.

Coverage

6 - 8m2 per litre per coat.
The coverage rate will vary according to the porosity and texture of the surface.
Available in 1, 4 and 10 litres and test pots
